PROJECT 3: E-Portfolio

E-portfolio is a document that collates all assessments produced in a module and reflects a student’s acquisition of the Module Learning Outcomes and Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities. Each student is to develop an E-Portfolio, a web-based portfolio in the form of a personal academic blog. E-portfolio is categorized under 4 entries. 1. Project 1: Collage and Digital Imaging 2. Project 2: Poster Design & Digital Imaging 3. Project 4: Self-Titled
4. Weekly post: Lecture, Tutorial & Practical

REFLECTION

Experience

My experience with this module was an enjoyable one. At the start of the module, it was really intimidating to see our senior's work and what was expected of us. I have learned so many new skills, thanks to the lectures and tutorials. Mr. Fauzi was really kind and provided us with useful feedback on how to improve our work, or when we faced any problems. We were taught the basics in class and were encouraged to look for resources online to learn more. Now, in the end, we are more or less capable of using Photoshop and After Effects to create amazing designs. It is wonderful to see how far the entire class and I have come in this journey.

Observations

During the entire module, I observed that making progress each week enables me to get feedback to improve my current design. By making the weekly post every week, I can stay on schedule and avoid rushing the task at the last minute. I have also observed that watching the lecture videos and following the tutorials in class has helped me to learn the skills quickly. The lecture slides have helped me to expand my theoretical knowledge about composition and digital imaging.

Findings

I found that image editing is quite fun, and I think it will become a new hobby of mine. I realize that Photoshop is easy to learn and use (compared to Adobe Illustrator). Once you get the basics down it's pretty much smooth sailing from there. Through this module, I found that digital imaging is so much more than just slapping on a filter over a photo and calling it a day. Instead, it requires lots of details and attention to make a design look magical. From learning the basics and theory of image editing to animating a photo, this module has helped me to develop my creative and artistic skills, as well as express myself through my art.
